Absolutely fascinating Lynn! The palm fronds are indeed hypnotic as they twirl nd dance in the dust, what a huge privelidge to have witnessed and timed such a mythical ceremonial belief!

Beautiful!

It was amazing, Susie! I don’t know how ‘Kumpo’ danced with such energy in the heat!

Wonderful. I enjoyed reading this and seeing your photographs. Do you know the book Maske by Phyllis Galembo. If you don't I think you would enjoy it.

.. am very intrigued by your astonishing Post & stunning Docu Photos !

My ‘Caribbean Plantation slavery research focus yesterday was Senegal initially .. but ‘Kumba ties in to my story set in Turks & Caicos Islands & in a highly ‘visual & musical way haha (yes - I can explain !) Slavery on the continental USA is not involved whatsoever - aside from reference to ‘The Underground Railway’ & a certain Fiction Novel in my Spec Cinematic Story Outline

I’m also including aspects of ‘Haitian Voodoo.. but more in a mischievous ‘cultural way..

It’s a fascinating country, Amanda. I would probably never have visited if Neale hadn’t run a trip there.
