Yes, I was absolutely fine. I think I had some sort of bug as I didn't feel great for the first half of the trip - couldn't really eat, which is most unlike me!
Wow Lynn, what a fabulous trip! I feel like I was with you (except the dodgy landing… sorry! I would have been incapable of helping in the slightest.. vomiting is my one and only fear) the history and amazing photographic back up/back drops are stunning!
Coincidentally the students I help are working on the term productive agriculture at the moment, we showed them videos of those vast cornfields, they couldn’t believe that they were large enough in places to warrant thirty or more harvesters to cut it all.. not good environmentally obviously. Huge thanks for sharing… I loved this! X
Ha, it's the first time I've had a dodgy landing like that! Definitely not one to repeat. The chap sitting next to me legged it as soon as he sensed something was amiss, lol.
The cornfields in Idaho were impressive - they just went on and on and on.
Your first visit to the US was to my home turf! I love the Tetons (and Yellowstone) with all my heart. We watched the 2017 eclipse from my family’s backyard in Rexburg (near Idaho Falls) but the Tetons would have been a stunning backdrop! Did you get any photos of the landscape during the eclipse? The 360-degree twilight was almost as interesting as the solar disk, I thought.
I also surveyed Bitch Creek in high school during my stream ecology course :)
Wow, what a coincidence! I loved the Grand Tetons - it was like Scotland on steroids - just beautiful.
I’ll have to go back to my images - I think I may have one of the amazing blueness. I think I was so caught up in the eclipse itself that I didn’t think to photograph anything else. If I ever see another, I think I would photograph everything but the actual eclipse.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading that. Good research answered all the questions that cropped up in my mind. And the photos are great. Thanks, Lynn, very timely.
These photographs and your narrative are exquisite. I felt like I travelled there!!! ❤️
Aw, thanks, Lisa ❤️
Very well worth a re-share. 'Dude', excellent background. Your eclipse photos are fabulous. And, eek, on the 'landing sickness'!
Thanks, Barrie 🙂
It’s a common phobia! 🫣
Thank goodness it didn’t spoil your amazing trip! We’re you ok on the return flight?

Urgh, what horrible timing!

This is excellent Lynn, what a wonderful part of the world to visit, I'd love to be able to see all of its charms myself one day. 😊🤞
Thanks, Ross. I do hope you get there sometime as the scenery is stunning. My ‘to visit’ list is endless, lol
