That looks fabulous Lynn, what a curious wee building, everything looks askew on it somehow🤣. Good advice though - Never turn your back on a tup! ewes have been saying that for years for good reason, not that they are good learners!
My old ram knocked me out cold once and on another occasion gave me the worst bruise (it was the size of a dinner plate and the colour of an aubergine) I've ever had Sarah, between my legs no less, lesson learnt albeit it took me two battering's! 😂
Any time you get to see a Stevenson lighthouse is a grand day out I say and that was on top of the interesting little Hermit’s Castle! I was confused by the Old Man of Stoer as I have only recently walked to the Old Man of Storr on Skye and thought, no wonder the walk to it along the headland warned you the walking wasn’t very easy!!
I love looking at a Stevenson lighthouse - they are so aesthetically pleasing. Have you read The Lighthouse Stevensons by Bella Bathurst? A really interesting book and opens your eyes to what an engineering feat it was to build them where they have.
Yes, the Old Men are confusing having such similar names 😂

Yes, everything was askew on the building - the same inside.
Your comment about the ewes made me laugh.

Hence the battering ram I suppose!
I can only imagine how painful that all was!
Goodness Susie, that sounds horrific! It reminds me why I like a stout fence between me and a tup!
That really is a quirky little (or maybe its bigger than it looks?)building Lynn, did David Scott ever inhabited permanently?
The lighthouse however is beautiful, simplistic and elegant, and I see it can be rented!
No, it's as small as it looks. You can get inside it but it's not habitable.
The Stevenson lighthouses are all a delight to behold - such aesthetically pleasing buildings. I wouldn't mind having a wee retreat there!

I have been to the lighthouse! Too bad I didn‘t know about the hermit‘s castle. What an interesting building!
Small world, lol. I came across mention of the hermit's castle in a photography guide book and was curious to see it. It's certainly quirky!
Fantastic! I'd love to stay in that lighthouse. Thanks for taking us there.
Thanks John. I quite fancy a stay there myself!
Oh now, I do like both these buildings... the rustic charm of a hermit's castle - perfect for a Photowalk studio????
A hermit's castle would be perfect as a studio as long as it was bigger and more comfortable than this one, lol. The lighthouse would be better 🙂
What an unusual building the castle is - I can imagine it was very impressive with the windows and door intact against that amazing backdrop.
