That's a very beautiful part of the world by the look of it Lynn, I hope to get there one day.

It is, Ross, whatever the weather. The Highlands is an incredibly photogenic area.

This is beautiful! Your eye is so well attuned to the wonder of Scotland, no matter the season.

Very glad to see you back here posting, and a huge thank you for mentioning my own letter, I really appreciate that.

Thanks! Scotland is an amazing place, as you know well 🙂

And you're very welcome. I see other people, like you and Susie, sharing letters and will do more of it going forward. It's how I've come across many of those I now read. I would never have found them otherwise.

Yes, I think mentioning things we enjoy is such a useful thing to do. I used to do it a lot more, listing music, films, TV, books, as well as other letters but, recently, I haven't done so as much. This is probably due to my sharing more fiction of late, as well as not sending as many general letters as I used to. I'm starting to add recommendations into my Fall in Time story, however, which seems a good thing to do.

I never tire of these beautiful colours Lynn - hopefully one day I will be able to visit and see them myself.

It's interesting how the colours can vary from year to year. This year seems to have been particularly vibrant. It would be a long way to come but I'm sure Scotland wouldn't disappoint 🙂

So lovely to see this pop up, Lynn. Magnificent photos, of course. Takes us back to 2021 when we toured around in our van at this time of year. Nice to see you back.

Thanks, Barrie - it's been a while, lol

Stunning photos, Lynn. This seems like the best backdrop to recharge some batteries!

Thanks, Daniel, and absolutely to the backdrop!

Ah, there you are Carol, I'm so glad you're posting again!

What a beautiful time of year to return when the already magnificent scenery around you is at its most glorious. The photo of the reflection of Loch Coulin reflected in the water is breathtaking, they all are but that one somehow makes me feel so (humble) grateful for nature in all her magisterial gorgeousness. xx

I'm not sure where Carol is, Susie, but Lynn is here 😂

Yes, hopefully will get into posting more frequently again. It's been a mad summer with not much mental capacity for Substack.

Autumn here this year has been magnificent with the colours so intense. I've so enjoyed wandering around various woods inhaling it all.

Honestly, I think you could write 'It's been a mad summer with not much mental capacity', miss off 'for Substack' and it would be accurate for me! A weird and short and long year, all together.

Really I could have missed off 'for Substack' for me too, lol. It has indeed been a long, short and weird year. I'm looking forward to slowing down a bit, drawing breath and finding time to do many creative things over winter (she says hopefully, lol).

Oh Lynn, I’ve no idea where that came from? I’ve been walking, the mist has addled my memory! I am so sorry. 🙈 Im still waiting for autumn colours to appear here, there are a few tentative sprays of gold but its all weather halfhearted !

Don't worry about it. I thought it was funny as it's the sort thing I do 😁

It's a shame your autumn colours are half-hearted, they are so vibrant here. The leaves are starting to disappear though; I think one good wind would see most of them on the ground.

Beautiful! I don’t know Scotland but from your photographs one gets the feeling of the grandeur of its nature. So gigantic beautiful that lets you feel, as human, a little dwarf. ❤️

Thank you. Yes, there are times that the landscape acts as a reminder that we are nothing more than a minor intrusion in geological time. There's something humbling about standing amongst the majesty.
